Frequently Asked Questions

How do I delete my account and data?

Open the app, go to Settings → Delete Account & Data (this option appears once you've linked an Apple ID). This permanently removes your watchlist, receipts, and account data. If you never linked an Apple ID, there's no account to delete — just delete the app.

Do I need to sign up to use Recoup?

No. The app works immediately on first launch with no sign-up. Linking an Apple ID (Settings → Account) is optional — it just means your data carries over if you reinstall or switch devices.

How does receipt scanning work?

Take a photo of a receipt (or upload a PDF) and Recoup reads the store, items, and prices off it automatically — no manual typing. Each item is then tracked through its return window, and you'll get an email (with the receipt attached) if the price drops before that window closes.

Which stores are supported?

130+ US and Canadian retailers, covering price tracking, in-store barcode/style-code scanning, and receipt parsing. Don't see a store you shop at? Request it from Settings → Send Feedback / Request Store — that's exactly what that flow is for.

Why isn't a price updating?

Prices are checked automatically once a day. If a specific item still looks stale after that, open the item and tap Refresh to force an immediate check — some retailer sites occasionally block automated checks, in which case the app will show a manual "Update Current Price" option instead.

How do I turn off price-drop or receipt-export emails?

Settings → Automatic Emails — Price Drop Alerts and Receipt Export can each be toggled off independently, along with how often they run.

Is Recoup affiliated with any retailer?

No. Recoup tracks publicly listed prices for personal price-match and return-tracking use. It isn't affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any store — always confirm the current price and that retailer's own price-match policy before requesting an adjustment.
